  1. Thanks for the insight. Will keep an eye on it.
  2. Thanks All, good idea, now trying to find out if its even ok for my engine (2004 3.0 V6 automatic)
  3. Yea think its the magnatec ecoboost, dont have any real details just whats listed on the invoice. Clearly just put the usual cheap crap in they always use by the looks of it. Hopefully it wont cause a problem but will keep an eye out for leaks etc
  4. Just had my car serviced by the local garage and specifically gave them a list of oils to use, HOWEVER, they have put generic 5/20 "ecoboost" oil in, based on the receipt. Circa £38 of oil Is this likely to cause an issue and do I need to demand they put it right or will it be ok for this one time ?
  5. awesome, yea happy to contribute too Im also thinking simple stuff like the headlight bulbs, and if anyone has upgraded to LED etc. I have a long list of planned items so will document what works and doesnt as I go along but if others have already figured it out would be helpful if they can also add in. Is there a way in this forum to pin a group editable list (kidna like a wiki ?) I am using this site as a reference for original part numbers (and purchasing replacements if needed) I think we could use that (in part) for a starting point for part numbers etc ? https://www.amayama.com/en/catalogs/honda/elysion/1-van-3-right-rr-2004-429 (on that note I do need to replace the headlght main beam bulbs, the standard ones are super Dim !!! any codes or recommendations ?) - EDIT : PTR200S just seen your amazing post re replacing the bulbs! massive thanks Im about to re-wire the stereo next week most likely so will document the 2004 with nave and HDD system as part of that.
  6. Thanks yea. The dash is about as brittle as a cornflake! Even trying to unscrew the vents broke the pins it screwed into ! Overall happy with the result but could be better if I wasn’t trying to carbon wrap jigsaw! 😁
  7. Hi, I would be interested in starting an interchangable parts list for the elysion. What I mean by that is we know that some parts come from the honda legend engine, switchgear from other hondas etc. I was thinking it would be very helpful if where was a reference that we could check and say "oh the indicator stalk is identical to that of a 2005 civic" or "the dash in the 2015 is identical to the 2004 BUT after 2018 its different" etc. Also any warnings Eg DONT use the wiring harness from a 2015 in a 2004 despite assurances that it would work as it blew up my new head unit (I speak from 1st hand experience here!) Would be helpful when we buy parts or do upgrades, anyone know of anything already we can make a sticky or able to contribute ?
  8. Hey here are the results of my repair (using a plastic weld gun and a carbon wrap. Its the first time ive wrapped anything so its not a perfect job but its about 1000 times better than a smashed dashboard. Before After Will now need to do the rest of the parts so it matches but very happy with the result for a 1st attempt.
  9. Thanks yea will try the repair route. New stereo comes this week so will take the rest out and try and repair and wrap first. Thanks for the suggestion of eBay breakers if I can’t sort this one that’s a good call. Also think I found the pin out on the Facebook owners club in the files section so if that turns out to be correct will post how it was done.
  10. Fantastic thank you. Going to check the docs for any confirmation of what fluid. Will check it tomorrow in the daylight when I can see.
  11. Hey. Re the recalls, I bought a report on the vehicle online, was really good had all the pics and docs from the export auction etc. It had a load of advisories for recall items but no way to know if they were done, would a uk dealer be able to address them or would it be a “pay for it yourself” now it’s over here ?
  12. Lol. Thanks. I hope that it’s not controlled from the front screen (but suspect it is) as that has failed on mine. Have an android unit coming with a wiring harness so will see what I can do with it when that’s fitted.
  13. Thanks for the advice. I couldn’t find how to check the transmission oil. Did have a look last night but it wasn’t obvious. Re cam belt we know the guys at the local garage as my brother in law does all of their IT. We are going to ask them to check out the car on the 30th so will see what comes back. Unfortunately the driver side rear door has started sticking, it won’t open with the button on the remote but works fine from the outside if you just pull the handle and it electrically slides back after that so that’s my next project. it’s been in the UK since 2015 and a couple of owners over here but only done a 2k per year miles since import. There is no documentation for me to confirm so I think we will have to bite the bullet and get it done. What is a reasonable quote for doing the pump lifters etc would you say.
  14. Thanks yea was drawn to it because of the more sporty look to it too. Slowly finding a collection of little snags with the car but still super happy with it.
  15. Ah fantastic, ive seen you have posted a lot on the forum over the years. Great to be in an exclusive club not just for the car but also the colour, it was that that sold it to me, looks really stunning! Great idea about the internal lights hadnt thought of that, if you know part numbers that would be a massive help. Also good shout on the rear matt as we will be transporting luggage when we go on our trip over christmas and the bigger european trip next year. Im looking to get roof bars for a roof box and ive seen the guide online. on what look like genuine honda 17" wheels, good smooth ride afaik. I have spotted a slight wobble at speed (65mph+) that i need to get checked and I need to get the cambelt done as I cannot confirm if its been done before (dont want an engine faliure !)
