  1. Got some jump leads , and it started first time !!! strange as that sounds ! Rightly as you say , i only do 2-3 mins journeys a day to work ... so i toook it a for a long and hard drive today being sure to open her up some and she purrs like a big pussy cat with no probs ! the battery must not be getting recharged with the small journeys ... Will be mindful of using the heated seats from now on Thankyou for your immediate response and helpful info PTR200S
  2. yes i do very short journeys and the heated seats must have zapped the last of the battery , im getting jump leads now to see if its the battery ot start motor! , all lights are normal , just the key in start position it makes one tick or click and thats it
  3. Hi honda heads , the first cooler morning of the summer , i took a small one minute drive to the garage to fill up on fuel , the moment i filled it and jumped back into drive away the car would not start !? the lights were all ok and battery seemed ok , when i turn the key there is a tick , thats it ...nothing else !??? is it a possible fuse ?? Please Help urgently if you can , my car is at the garage ..Thnakyou
  4. thanks scooby for doing a little digging , i too use honda lings ... i understand what your saying and im gonna wait for a dry spell to return in the coming days and remove the water bottle , let it soak , clean it then replace and refill with green ethylene glycol antifreeze , mixed or 50-50 Thanks will post snaps of progress Thankyou
  5. Hi scooby , i searched that book inside out last night for the correct fluid (coolant) i should be using, could i find it i found some other very useful information .....but sadly nothing about fluids !!!! so again today i went to the radiator and lifted of the cap (the car had been idle a few hours ) and the coolant colour in the radiator is like an ultra violet green and the coolant in the expansion bottle is a dirty dark red colour . Does this sound right ? is the coolant in the radiator not meant to be the same colour as whats in the expansion bottle !!! How long does it take for the 2 large fans to come on , i have rarley heard or seen them move !? i have read thru recent posts from hughzee he replaced a "LAZY" fan switch on a honda oddessy !!???
  6. Looking into the bottle scooby , it looks like a dirty red/brown colour Unless it was mixed with another color coolant to give this color
  7. Hi honda heads , i noticed on my car today when attempting to replace rear anti roll bar bushes , that this model has 4 REAR stabilizing arms to each wheel ??? Is this not a bit excessive # ACCORD ES (MK6 (CG4)) 2001 2.0i
  8. To be honest Scooby i dont kno what coolant was in it , i bought the car 6 months ago , with a full honda history , upto 66k miles its now at 72k miles , im glad to hear others with the same model that have quick heat up times !!! (THANKYOU DAVEBRADS) everything works perfectly and NEVER overheats , im just taking preventative measures to ensure the car treats me well Could you recommend a coolant for future reference ?
  9. Yes , Hughezee this is from a stone cold start , in the winter i wont be complaining my mechanic , had replaced the thermostat with one that i had purchased (new) and told me he had topped up with new coolant ! Im not sure a full flush was undertaken or NOT !! prior to the repair there was no leak , just general upkeep and preserving ! I will speak with my mechanic this upcoming week. Were the replacing of anti roll bar bushings which i purchased on line as directed (thankyou )
  10. Hi, Honda heads, after changing the radiator and the thermostat 2 months ago, my temp gauge still rises to halfway temperature within a minute, is this normal ?? I have felt the top radiator hose and its screaming hot and the water/coolant levels seems ok nothing drastic, I have driven a couple hundred miles since the change and never noticed anything performance wise or mechanically dangerous happening, so I assumed this was normal, just want a little insight?
  11. Hi Honda Heads, I signed up today, been following you guys thru facebook !! I have Honda Accord Coupe 2001 2.0i ES
