Administrators hughezee Posted June 10, 2015 Administrators Report Share Posted June 10, 2015 Since I had to drop the down-pipe to sort out my oil leak on the sump, I decided to replace the mid exhaust section and rear silencers and though I would share a few shots Yeah I know I didn't make it easy for myself with the car only raised about 15inches off the ground (at the front) but I like to show others it can be done at home even if you don't have ramps ect, although I would highly recommend them Once I assembled and secured the rear sections, I pulled off the mid pipe joining the CAT and replaced the gasket Any questions feel free to ask

Administrators hughezee Posted June 10, 2015 Author Administrators Report Share Posted June 10, 2015 Thanks m8y, its surprising how much searching you can do on other forums always plenty of information but no pictures I always like to take pictures if an when I can and if I'm working at home its weather permitting
Founding Member Mazda Man Posted June 10, 2015 Founding Member Report Share Posted June 10, 2015 A picture tells a thousand words, Stu. It's all very well saying "remove screw from bottom of centre console" for example, but with a picture you can see straight away where the screw actually is. Pictures are great.
Founding Member Retro Rich Posted June 11, 2015 Founding Member Report Share Posted June 11, 2015 Looking great buddy! No marks or scratches on the new coatings of VHT paint either. Not for the faint hearted with only 15" of clearance Hope we can add to this thread real soon!
Administrators hughezee Posted June 11, 2015 Author Administrators Report Share Posted June 11, 2015 I've just spoken to Paul @ RH and ordered new nuts for the CAT threads, three motor factors couldn't get the right 10mm thread so I will have some spare for your exhaust job Rich

Founding Member Mazda Man Posted June 14, 2015 Founding Member Report Share Posted June 14, 2015 Good stuff Rich. She sure is a beauty, Stu is the only person I would have another coupe from because of his expertise with our beloved coupes, I know the car will be 100% as he won't let me have it until he's satisfied with it. I'm hoping to pick her up next week, if you're around (probably be around 7pm one evening) it will be great to see you.
