Administrators hughezee Posted September 3, 2014 Administrators Report Posted September 3, 2014 This job is too often portrayed as a big job However' this is a quick insight into the process and I think most of you will find it easy? Firstly make sure the ignition switch is in the off position, if you have broken switch it maybe resisting the barrel movement so make sure its in the correct position. Now for safety remove negative battery terminal as shown above, its just good working practice Proceed to remove the three trim screws holding the lower cover as shown above and then loosen the steering wheel height adjustment to lowest position shown below. Squeezing corner to corner of the top cover and it should just pop off as shown above and the lower cover should slide down when pulling around barrel opening shown below. Undo the cover, this is a shield and covers the cable as goes though the column, this one was broken so I only had to remove what you see Remember their are two different types of switches with the same part number  so it maybe worth checking your old one first? Remove the leg shield from the foot well to access the connection(s) note there is small retaining nut to remove which is accessibly when the coin tray is open 7-8mm socket required and it should pull free? I mentioned earlier if your cable shield is not broken there is another screw to remove its easily spotted once removed pull the switch through the passage in the column. Also you may notice there are few extra wires, the car has auto lock, different alarm, LPG fitted so don't panic I did adapted the new switch loom as shown below :? Anyway now reverse the procedure and your done, any questions just ask 2
