Hey folks.

I’m now the proud owner of a Honda Elysion 2.4.

I bought the car knowing the interior screen didn’t work. I am looking to do a full conversion to apple car play but I would be keen to get the screen to work in the mean time.

So, there’s a couple of things I think I need to pick your brains on:

1) What do I need to look for to fault find the screen not working? It doesn’t work at all. Everything else does but I can’t see what I’m selecting etc. It would be nice mainly for the reversing cam as I am transitioning from a Kia Ceed GT so it’s not exactly the same dimensions haha.

2) Forget about fixing the screen entirely. Can you suggest apple/android car play replacements to bring the car more up to date?? I’ve seen a few on alibaba/ali express but not sure.

There is no problem with service parts,  it's basically a Honda Legend 3.5 engine.....no problem with parts for the 3.0 litre or the 2.4,  the latter is the K24 engine, think Accord, Acura etc.

The bit that becomes more difficult are body parts and trims...whilst most can be found you may need to settle for secondhand stuff from breakers which in the scheme of things shouldn't be a problem as most Elysion are over 10 years old anyway.  Unless of course you get a Chinese built one. 

Cox Motor parts, Amayama.com are a couple of good new part suppliers, UK and Japanese respectively. A lot of independent motor part suppliers are now more aware of the Elysion therefore compatible aftermarket stuff is available although you may have to hunt it down !!

A lot of owners have been through the mill finding difficult stuff and there is quite a bit of help and expertise published on line now.

Do check out the insurance angle too, there are a wide variation on quotes from so called "specialists " in jap motors to the comparison websites that we, owners, have manged to get some models onto in the last couple for years.

So ownership shouldn't be a problem,  I have had mine just short of 5 years now, done the spares and repair bit, been through the crash damage repairs stuff, currently still driving her and loving it.🥰🥰🥰

If you want interesting then get an Elysion,  alternatively,  get a Ford Boring Smax !,,,,,,

Ive made the decision that I would rather spend my money on an Elysion and enjoy what i’m driving, than an SMAX that anyone could own. 

Are there any guides on MPG’s of each of the engine sizes? REAL user examples and not suggested ones?

Just joined as Im looking to buy a Honda Elysion and looking for help on what to look out for, gauge prices and best engine size to go for.

We are a family of 4, soon to be 5 and i want to avoid going down the Ford SMax or VW Transporter route.

I LOVE the look of the Elysion, but what are the problems with owning an import (if any).
