    Thanks

Car came with Bridgestone Evo 001 I think and by the time I'll come back from holiday they will be useless by the looks of it after 5000km.

Today I fitted the "new" tensioner pully and belt.  The belt was simple, but the pulley I have must be different from the one in the video I watched where they put a socket on the pulley bolt....  On my car there is simply no room to put on a socket, let alone attach a bar.  A 14mm spanner with pole undid the bolt, but even then then there was no room to take the bolt out - I had to undo the engine monting on that side and lever over the engine to get the bolt and pulley off.  But off it came and the replacement was fitted, then the belt.  Rattle gone, but whistle noise now much clearer and my brass  bar trumpet  on the alternator shows that to be the whistle culprit.... next job....maybe...

When undoing the top engine mounting, one bolt head was 14mm and tight, one was 15mm and only fingertight.  It seems someone before me had managed to strip this thread out of the housing attached to the engine.  The engine mounting itself has seen better days so I will replace it when I find one, and whilst that is out of the way, I will try helicoiling ( i have a helicoil kit) the duff thread. As a temporary measure I used a longer 10mm bolt with a big washer and nut in the striipped hole so that the engine is at least being held up by the 14mm bolt and my lash up which must be better than the 14mm bolt alone!

Can alternators be fixed - is it likely to be just the bearing?

Is there a part number for theengine mount next to the serpentine belt?

Does anyone happen to have any to sell me?

    This is the engine mount.

I've been quoted £200 for an engine mount by Cox, they've made me laugh.

I put a brass bar to power steering pump, and alternator and both have the same whistle noise with the power steering pump a bit louder.  The tensioner pulley doesn't need a noise - one can feel the vibration through the brass bar.

A new belt and tensioner pulley would seem a good start - but where can I get them in decent quality at a fair price...  ECP seems to have none, Cox's seems to have none, but there are a few in the USA.   So I have so far failed to find an accessories belt or tensioner pulley for the V6 coupe but found a belt at Cox's for the v6 Elysion - £50 though...

Genuine Honda Elysion 3.0 Petrol Serpentine / Power Steering Belt

    Are they the same?

Any other suggestions for reasonable sources?

These are the pulleys I've bought and they fit perfectly.

  4. Quick update on roof bars :

I've had a very annoying whistling noise coming from the dash area while driving above 40mph , well that's what I thought, I've even asked Stu today what can it be and just after work I've said I'll put some tape on top of the channels of the roof bars because the rubber inserts were missing and guess what THE NOISE IS GONE 🥳, I can't believe that just some rubbers can make such an awful noise.

I've scratched my head for the last 3 days what have I've done wrong while putting the dash trim back.

Anyway Happy Days and no more loud music to compensate for the whistling 😂

Just a "side-note" Chinese Android isn't always compatible with the rest of the worlds Android, owned by Google and seeing as Google recently fell out with Huawei and won't support their phones anymore, it might be a blessing in disguise and just leap-frogged you to the same situation when the current crop of Android devices get to the point where they need updating and Google will no doubt update everyone elses but put some code in so the others can't use the updated apps etc.

Thanks for reminding me about Huawei 😋, I've just renewed my contract before the news 😤

  6. The idea is kind of similar but instead of the bolt that screws into the roof I've used the existing bolts that comes with the Thule fitting kit 3033.

As Footpack I've used 753 because 751 is too tall.

As Stu said I've used the existing bolts on the car as anchor points and then bought a 20mm x 4mm x600mm mild steel bar from ebay and cut it 20mm longer to suit the distance between anchor points and after drilled 3 holes, 2x7mm on the sides and 1x9mm in the middle of bar so I can fit the bolt from fitting kit.

I've used m6 nuts to tighten down the metal strip to anchor points, drilled a hole into the trim that sits above the anchor points to suit and then assembled everything else as per video.

    Job done.

I should have taken some pics but I totally forgot.

    Hope it helps

Good to know thanks, some of the dash trim was replaced by the importer as it broke when he took it off to fit the radio expander must have gone brittle in the jap sun

    Great

So I'm not the only one who broke the trim 😭

I've bought an Android unit from China and the seller said that definitely it fits my Elysion but of course it doesn't, it's made for the 2013 models made in China, so now I have a broken trim, un unusable unit and no music at all in my car.

    Great

Could you please tell me how to get in touch with the person who done the wiring at least?

    Thank you

I've managed to fit the roof box without buying the genuine roof rails.

I've been quoted £260 for roof rails and £280 for postage from Japan so nearly had a heart attack 🙄

If anyone is interested let me know and I'll explain how I've done it.

I understand they, roof rails, are available from Japan only but Cox Honda as st123 says they might be able to bring them over for you, at a price I guess !  Ring them and speak to Andy.

I did see a price around January 2018 of about 400 pounds for roof rails imported from Japan but I cant seem to find any reference to it now, sorry.

Alternatively nip down to Halfrauds and have a word about using their roof BAR setup.......... assuming that you want the roof bars to perform as a roof rack and not just the "rails" for the "aesthetic" look ?.. ...........perhaps you could ask Halfrauds to test them on your vehicle !

A lot of the generic bars are designed to fit the existing rood strips so maybe a proprietary bar kit would get you started.

I've already been to Halfrauds but they keep saying that they cannot find any bars for Elysion.

I've even told them to have a look outside at the car and the actual studs under the plastric trim but they were looking at it as it was an UFO 🤣
