People that turn their noses up at the age of a car are those that secretly realise their own rubbish cars will never mature. The coupe is like a fine wine, that if looked after grows better with age. Look after it, be proud and enjoy it!

Thanks for bumping this for me Stu. Felt numb about it all weekend. It was a heartbreaking choice, but the buyer could see that. He looked the car over and could see how good it was. He didn’t haggle me on the price, so I’m sure it’s gone to a good home. Hopefully, he’ll join the forum soon.

Perhaps not using indicators gives an extra couple of miles of range 🤣

Probably all down to cost of living. Everyone is having to tighten their belts.

There is no way I would purchase an electric car in the foreseeable or distant future.

Did you get the battery locally or use someone like Tayna batteries?? They have particularly good deals sometimes.

Are those rad brackets original? In very good condition,  need to refurb mine I think, I appear to be letting the side down 😛

The battery was from the battery group online supplier. Just ordered it and two days later it arrived. Well packaged and fitted great. As for the brackets, as far as I know they’re original, unless Stu swapped them out at some point 🤣

After a handful of battery charges on Bluey over the last 12 months, I decided it was high time to change the battery. After gawking at the inflated original Honda battery prices, I decided to follow Stu’s advice and order an aftermarket one he recommended. I’m always happy to just order stuff he recommends as it always fits properly and works perfectly. Some pictures below. 
I also took the opportunity to get leaves and debris out from around the air filter. It was a damp day, so I stopped short of using wax seal for fear of sealing moisture in.

Thank you. That last sentence does keep going over in my mind. I definitely won’t find another one like this. It would need to be the right price before I let it go. Looking at Autotrader and online, they’re really not worth a lot, so it’s very sad. People don’t realise what high quality motors they are.

It may come to that yet. I have the Triumph to sell if the V6 doesn’t provoke the desired interest. I hate doing this, but there’s just too many cars 😢

Hi fellow forum friends,

it is with much regret I have decided to part ways with my much loved V6 aka “Bluey”. A recent promotion with a company car, means that I now simply have too many cars that get too little use.

The body and interior are In very good condition. The car is a very original example. Extensive past work undertaken,  includes cambelt and water pump, brakes, recently replaced front suspension and drop links. Mileage is currently  108,500.
 

I will be advertising the car elsewhere for £5K, but I am open to sensible offers from forum users and will ask Stu to give the car a once over and inspect the brakes and brakes lines (last mot advisories) before the new owner parts with their cash.

Not the first time it’s happened either eh Stu, let’s not forget Matilda. Always down to shoddy work of previous mechanics. Don’t know why they bother 🙄

At least you kept it contained as it could have been worse.

The week before the meet up, I finally replaced the lower radiator hose clip on my V6. Indeed running my fingers down the hose culminated in a gasp of horror as I felt the well rusted clip. Fortunately, I had a rather good spare one. 

I believe the replacement process has been written up before, so I’ll only outline the method I took. The car was chocked at the rear and raised on axle stands at the front subframe. I’m so nervous of working under vehicles that I even placed two trolley jacks (one each side) just a mm or two below the front jacking points. 
It is then a case of removing the plastic trim from underneath the very front removing the plastic clips. The trim runs from side to side under the wheel arches. Take care with the brittle clips unless you have new ones to replace them with. 
Access to the hose and clip is now possible. After speaking with Stu (because I wanted to limit coolant loss), he suggested removing the hose at the engine block and sliding the upper and rusted lower clips up the hose to the top. It is more fiddly than it sounds, but with a bit of patience I was able to remove and replace the lower clip and lost about half a litre of coolant, which isn’t terrible. A coolant top up and system bleed followed. Then clean up and trim replacement. It is one of those jobs I’d urge all coupe owners to do, for peace of mind. Some pictures below 

I have been using my Coupe too this last week and I concur also that it is heavenly 👌

It was great to see the approach for cambelt replacement, though I was saddened to learn that replacement parts can be really shoddy, unless they have been constructed in Japan 😢
